Veterans and community members are invited to attend a ceremony honoring veterans at Coronado Jr. High on May 18, 9:10 a.m., in the garden area next to the main entrance to the campus. Veterans are invited to come to the library at 8:45 that morning for a "breakfast reception".

IMMUNIZATION REMINDER - All students who are in the 6th grade this year are required by Texas law to have additional immunizations prior to enrolling in the 7th grade. Students will not be allowed to enroll at Coronado unless they have received the required shots. Parents should provide the school nurse with an updated shot record. Immunizations will NOT be offered at 7th grade registration. Contact nurse Lupe Hinojosa at Ash (296-4130) if you have questions. (view list of required immunizations for 7th grade) |

The PHS Navy Junior ROTC unit has been named to the 2011-12 Texas Distinguished Unit Award list for the second year in a row. This award is the most prestigious honor a unit can earn and is awarded to less than 30% of NJROTC units based on specific areas of excellence in areas such as academics, leadership, community service, and skills displayed in competitive events.

PHS senior Mathew Little has qualified for the UIL State Academic Competition after winning third place in Mathematics at the UIL Regional Academics Competition held recently at Hardin Simmons University. Matthew also placed 6th in Science and 9th in Calculator Applications earning him a place as an alternate in science. The state competition will be held in Austin on May 22. |
