  • Parents of current eighth grade students are encouraged to attend a brief informational meeting hosted by Plainview High School on Monday, Nov. 6 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the PHS auditorium. All Texas students are required to declare an endorsement and a four-year plan upon entering high school.  Current eighth grade students will be participating in College / Career Readiness courses to develop their four-year plan and declare an endorsement according to the following schedule: Coronado (Nov. 6-10 and Jan. 22-26) and Estacado (Nov. 13-20 and Jan. 29- Feb. 2).  Parents are requested to attend the informational session so that they understand the planning process for students preparing to enter high school.

  • Food Service - If you have a child enrolled in Plainview ISD, we are asking that you fill out a lunch application if you might possibly qualify, even if your child doesn't think they will eat or rarely eats in the cafeteria.

    Qualifying salaries and more information are located at the link below. To fill out an lunch application, please log into family access by clicking on the A+ Grades icon above, choose one child from the drop down, then go to the food service tab and choose add an application.

    Students who qualify for free and reduced lunch may be eligible for discounts on college entrance testing and some courses for college credit. If you have questions, please call the food service office at 806.293.6088.

  • SUBSTITUTE TEACHER  Applications may be picked up at the Administration Office, 912 Portland, from September 5, 2017- November 1, 2017 for the first semester and January 9, 2018 - March 7, 2018 for the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year.  Training dates are  October 4, 2017;  November 1, 2017;  February 7, 2018;  and March 7, 2018.

  • PHS marching band wins competition

    The Plainview High School “Powerhouse of the Plains” marching band walked away with first place honors among bands that competed on Oct. 14 to earn the Bands of America (BOA) West Texas Regional Competition Class AA championship held at Grande Communications Stadium in Midland, TX.

  • PHS A Cappella choir all-region tryout results

    Twenty-three Plainview High School A Cappella Choir students competed in the All-Region Choir Competition held at Lubbock-Cooper High School on September 29. PHS students walked away from the event claiming 20 spots and one alternate position in the All-Region Choir.

  • PHS senior named National Hispanic Scholar

    Plainview High School senior Andres Garcia has been named a scholar in the National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP), a program that acknowledges outstanding academic achievement among Hispanic and Latino high school students.

  • McDonough, Leon honored by PISD Board of Trustees with TASB Media Award

    Herald editor Doug McDonough and sports editor Skip Leon were recognized for excellence in reporting school news and presented with the 2017 Texas Association of School Board’s (TASB) Media Honor Roll Award during the Sept. 21 meeting of the Plainview ISD Board of Trustees.

  • La Mesa Elementary hosts “Sock it to Harvey” drive

    In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Texans young and old have pulled together to help in what will be a long-term recovery. La Mesa Elementary staff and students wanted to take part in those recovery efforts and found a unique way to extend a helping hand.

  • Convocation kicks off the 2017-2018 school year

    With the first day of the 2017-2018 school year quickly approaching, over 700 Plainview ISD teachers, administrators, and support staff gathered in the Plainview High School auditorium on Friday morning for their annual Convocation assembly. The event celebrated this year’s theme, “Where Good Things Happen.”
