NJROTC "GRAND CHAMPIONS"
SAN ANGLELO, TX

Drill Team

The Drill Team is an exciting extension of the discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills learned in class. The team performs at all the JROTC ceremonies and inspections.

Teams can be male, female, or mixed.
When they participate in local competition, they confer as much pride on their school as varsity team sports.

JROTC drill teams are considered an excellent means to creating appropriate attention, publicity, and interest in the JROTC program and for maintaining a high state of morale.

The drill team consists of approximately 10-19 cadets, including the drill team commander. All cadets are eligible for the drill team, but in order to be eligable you must first:

     Be an outstanding cadet.
Willing to attend morning and afternoon practices.
     You must also learn self-discipline.
And be willing to prove yourself against some of the best drill teams in your area.

Community Service

Community service is a program designed to get kids involved in their community by helping out at the elderly’s homes or cleaning up on our two mile strip of adopt-a-highway that we go clean every three months to ensure it looks good while citizens and visitors drive by.

What community service provides:

A way to keep kids out of trouble.
A way to keep the roads and other public places clean.

Marksmanship

Marksmanship is a competitive sport where you use air rifles to shoot at targets while in three different positions.

There is standing where you are standing up, kneeling where you are on one knee using the other to balance yourself on the floor to get a good shot, then there is prone where you are laying  on your belly using both elbows to balance yourself while at a thirty degree angle to the target.

Key requirements
:

Good steady hand

Be able to stand, or kneel for long periods of time

Practice long and hard every time you get a chance

The amount of effort put into training your skills directly affects your abilities
Lots of patience

Know what you’re doing
