"STAAR Wars” is our school theme for this year. We have borrowed the slogan from the epic science fiction fantasy and tweaked it to fit our mission at Thunderbird.  When you hear about a school in Plainview that has gone crazy with Jedi jargon, they are talking about us.  Throughout the school we will be training our students/Jedi (1^st-4^th), Padawan (Kindergarten), and Youngling (PreK) to control the light side of the Force through positive expectations by F.ocusing, O.rganizing, R.especting, C.ommitting, and E.xcelling.  We hope to instill in our students what Jedi learn about hard work, integrity, teamwork, and success. 

When you enter the hallways of Thunderbird Republic during the 2012-2013 year, you will see between 450 and 500 happy Jedi Knights, plenty of sci-fi memorabilia, and Jedi temples/classrooms.

As Jedi Grand Master/principal of the Thunderbird Republic, it is my honor to work with dedicated Jedi Masters/staff members who are committed to educating our Jedi Knights. Our Jedi mission is that every Jedi in our command is well trained and ready to face the “trials” (higher learning thinking skills) and defeat the “Death STAAR/state assessment.” We plan to celebrate our victory when we annihilate that state assessment with the power of the Thunderbird Force.
