Any staff member who would have the experience to be above Step 34 will receive $25.00 per year for each year employed by Plainview ISD.

Teacher Benefits
Health Insurance - a variety of health insurance options is offered by our district. The total TRS, state and district contributions is currently $316.00 monthly.  

Retirement System - payments of 6.4% of the annual salary plus 0.25% for Teacher Retirement Health Insurance for a total of 6.65% are deducted by the Payroll Office and supplemented by a state contribution of 6.0%.

Medicare - for all new employees hired after April 1, 1986. Federal law requires that 1.45% will be deducted to be paid to Medicare. The District also pays 1.45% to Medicare.

Personal Days / Sick Leave - all employees earn an additional five days of local sick leave per school year, concurrently with state personal leave. Local sick leave is accumulated to a maximum of 50 days and is taken with no loss of pay.

Other Benefits - made available to full time employees at their cost are life insurance, disability insurance, dental insurance and other voluntary benefit coverage. Other benefits include:
